BL 26-E

2 1/4" to the foot scale model of an Australian National BL Class general freight diesel-electric locomotive. They were rostered to haul the Overland for a short period of time. Named "BobHawke" after the prototype Locomotive was honoured in 1983 after Australian National adopted a policy of naming the class leader after the current serving prime minister. This locomotive is painted in the Australian National livery of green, yellow and grey, as they were before they were repainted in National Rail and Pacific National colour schemes.

Each bogie is fitted with a three horsepower GE60P (forklift) traction motors with chain drive to all wheels. It has two air brakes, Independent for the locomotive and a separate train brake, with an emergency loco brake, should the main reservoir fall to 30 pounds. An air horn makes the necessary noises. It also features multiple unit controls.
